Where To Get Money When You Need It Most

Posted on September 30, 2016 by Guy Atkinson

There are many reasons why you might need some money, right now. Maybe you had an auto accident, maybe you got laid off from work, or maybe you’ve had an unexpected medical emergency or home emergency. While ideally, you’d have some money saved up in the case of any of these things, that isn’t always possible, especially if you live paycheck to paycheck.

Stack Of Cash

There are a few options for having money when you need it, aside from just saving some up. However, having a savings account with 3 to 6 months worth of money for food and bills saved up is really wise and can save you a little of trouble in any kind of emergency.

Get A Payday Loan

A payday loan allows you to borrow a smaller amount of money, and is usually more flexible when it comes to bad credit and other such issues that many people have with getting loans. You’ll just have to meet a certain weekly income requirement to qualify and have it paid back in a specified amount of time.

The better your credit the lower the interest rate you can get on a loan, so you might also want to consider a loan with a bank you are in good standing with, especially if you need a larger loan amount. Just remember that the longer it takes you to pay it back the more you will owe.

Set Up A Crowdfunding Campaign

Instead of borrowing money from friends or family, and possibly causing family issues or losing a friend over it, consider trying crowdfunding to get the money you need. Surfing through a renowned Crowdfunding Site can help you learn everything you need to know about this particular option. Remember, however, that this option is best if you don’t need the money immediately. You’ll want to put time and effort into sharing your campaign as well, so people know about it.

When crowdfunding first started it seemed like it was just for small businesses and budding entrepreneurs, but now there are a plethora of crowdfunding sites that cater to anyone look for money, for whatever. You can try to get donations for medical bills, fixing your home, or even for helping you get back on your feet after a job loss.

If you borrow money, whether it’s from a bank or a family member, you need to pay it back in a certain amount of time. Often, depending on your money and life situation, this can lead to even more debt and money problems. Never get a loan, from anywhere, if you don’t intend to pay it back or know you won’t be able to pay it back in a timely manner.

By crowdfunding, you save yourself the need to pay anyone back. The money is donated to you for whatever you requested it for, and you don’t have anyone to be held accountable to if it ends up going to something else.

I’ve just re-read Richard Denny’s fantastic book ‘Selling to Win’, in which he mentions a time management technique that I learnt many, many years ago from an old boss of mine.
